Education and resources about perinatal mental health

Miles for Mums and Babies – West of Scotland Mother and Baby Unit

by Clare Thompson • 29 April 2021
Mother and Baby Unit, Glasgow

The team from the Mother and Baby Unit in Glasgow based at Leverndale Hospital, along with the Community Perinatal Mental Health Team, throughout the month of May they will be challenging themselves to walk 10,000 steps a day in order to fundraise for Action on Postpartum Psychosis. This will be part of the #MilesForMumsAndBabies challenge.

Action on Postpartum Psychosis campaign for Mother and Baby Units (MBUs), so that mums affected by postpartum psychosis can receive the treatment they need. They raise awareness of postpartum psychosis, provide support and information to mums and families affected, train health professionals and conduct research to better understand the illness. Together we aim to help them with their pledge to raise over £10,000 in 2021.

As a unit, they care for mothers whom have a diagnosis of post partum psychosis. They have been supported by APP and our team in Glasgow are keen to complete this challenge to further raise awareness and support the charity.
